During a recent massage, as I was digging my thumbs into my clients back, he was giving me the update on his family. He shared with me about one of his daughters having challenges because of a misaligned jaw and that she was on the waiting list for surgery. I cringed (even though he couldn't see my face) at the thought of having the jaw broken, reset and the intense recovery time that would be needed to heal.
All of that pain, just to have your teeth touch.
As I was beginning to feel really sorry for her, the energy was made lighter by a story he told me about his daughter's conversation with the surgeon. When asked what she was most looking forward to after the procedure was completed, thinking it would be about looks or esthetics, she calmly answered, "To be able to bite food again."
So simple. So necessary.
As I listened to his story about his daughter, I realized that many of us are living life like a misaligned jaw. No matter what goals, aspirations and potential we have; if we don't find a way to align ourselves fully that process, we will never really be able to take a big bite out of the amazing possibilities that await us. As we try to reach for our dreams, it will feel as though we are chomping at the air with no real results. Everything will be just slightly just out of reach. We can smell it, but can't quite taste it.
Some of us require surgery. Some of us simply have to reset our thinking. Whether it's a drastic change or not, we all need to take the time to set our full attention towards a direction that will make our lives better. The best life is when we really grab a hold of something great, chew on it for a
while and then swallow.
Go get it!
